While I appreciate that this is coffee-ish, it is not strong enough to be a good coffee alternative . It has the bitterness needed to mimic coffee, but it's quite weak. I can't have the acid anymore so I'm going to continue to try and make this work, but is it really cost effective when at least a tablespoon or more is needed to make it strong enough? This would be a fabulous alternative for those that like a really light coffee.

I was worried about the chicory content, as my mom used to say that's what cheap coffee was blended with if you were poor! But this has malted grain flavors before the chicory, and dandelion root is supposed to be good for digestion (but can cause diarrhea, and I have a sensitive stomach). Thankfully, I did not have that reaction ? it must be a very small amount in there. I enjoy this coffee substitute at the end of the day, and I sleep great! Coffee raises my blood sugar, even if it's just black, and I feel safe with this product. I sweeten it with erythritol and use a low-fat coffee whitener. I also add 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the mix, and it?s great. 1 level tsp/8 oz; add another 1/2 tsp for 10 oz cup.

I hesitated to order something that claims to be a substitute for coffee. I find that I need a tablespoon rather than a teaspoon to get the taste I want. This is still cheaper per cup than MOST K-cups or other coffee substitutes. I calculated it to be approximately 40 cents per cup. That?s great! I do enjoy my first cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning, and when I want more coffee, I have Nummy with dandelion (I don?t like flavoured coffee, so I would not try the ones with flavours added). It?s not exactly like coffee, and the real test is if you let it cool, it tastes MUCH better than coffee. Every gulp can easily be had without the bitterness of cold coffee. I can?t explain it, but I love it, and I wasn?t expecting to.

I was so excited to try a coffee alternative! I made my first cup at work while working a red eye flight. I usually end up drinking a lot of regular coffee and tea while working, so I was hoping this would help me cut down a bit in caffeine so I can be less reliant on it! Okay, my current obsession is putting this in the foamer and heating it up. First, I add vanilla soy or oat or almond milk, two spoons of the coffee substitute, one scoop of marine MCT with collagen, and a few drops of monk fruit extract.
